Why is your Organic range not fortified?

It's really frustrating to not be able to find fortified plant-milks that are also organic.  Can you explain to me what it is about the process of adding minerals that renders the milk non-organic?

  • Hi Rachel,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us!

I understand your frustration trying to find a fortified organic plant-based drink. The reason they don't exist is because regulations don't allow organic drinks to be enriched with vitamins and minerals. This is why our organic oat drinks are not fortified. However, there's one exception. In Sweden, authorities recently change the food regulations and are now demanding all plant-based drinks to be fortified with vitamin D, due to deficiency in the country. So organic products sold in Sweden, at least contain vitamin D now. Hopefully, more regulations will change in more countries in the future so that we can enrich our organic products with all the healthy good stuff our regular oat drinks get!

I hope this answer made things a little bit more clear. Don't hesitate to write back if you have any questions.

Stay safe and oatsome out there!

    All the best,
    Karim
